Reviews:

The historical research evident in the book is meticulous.  Having done a fair amount of research for our local paper, I know how time consuming it is to find and document so many sources.  Hats off to the authors for a very thorough story about not just a bad storm, but also the settlement of Grand Forks and some of the conflicts between the northern and southern parts of Dakota Territory!  An interesting read about some of the specific ways our plains climate affected human development in North and South Dakota.”

“A very enjoyable read!  Not only a great book about the Grand Forks/East Grand Forks June 16, 1887 tornado, but it’s a wonderful history lesson.  Before, during and after the tragic tornado, it’s obvious the authors put a tremendous amount of time and energy into historical archives and research.  All weather and history buffs will want to read this book.”
