Pioneer Resident Dies at Home Here

Mrs. Jacob Berg Lived in City More Than 50 Years; Funeral Today.

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Jacob Berg, resident here for more than half a century, who died at her home, 311 Chestnut street, Monday evening (July 3, 1933), will be held at the United Lutheran church at 2:30 P. M. Friday with Rev. F. I. Schmidt officiating.  Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery.

Born near Portage, Wis. October 13, 1855, Mrs. Berg, then Christina Langord, came to Grand Forks with a brother in 1881.  She married Jacob Berg who owned a photograph studio on part of the present site of the Grand Forks county courthouse, December 7, 1883.

Surviving are two daughters, Amanda and Ethel Berg and two sons, Jacob Berg of Grand Forks and Dr. A. L. Berg of Highwood, a suburb of Chicago, and two brothers, John Langord of Preston, Minn. and Nels Langord of Arkdale, Wis.
